Greetings to you all in that area. This is to congratulate you all who are responsible for the publishing of Mana in the various Polynesian languages. I congratulate you also on the news that is brought to us through the publication of this paper. Were it not for Mana, we in this corner of the island would not hear of the numerous happenings in your area and in the Northern districts. When I read the news in Mana a great compassion for our Maori people overwhelms

me, regarding the ignorance of our Pakeha friends to understand our thoughts, our dreams and our aspirations regarding the future of our people. However, let us be stout-hearted and of good cheer and may God bless us all and keep us united in peace. Na Ngaro Anaru Kaiwhakako i te Reo Maori. Rotorua Girls High School Rotorua. Friends, Congratulations on the number 8 issue of Mana. The story on ACORD’s visit to Te Hapua filled me with nostalgia for our last visit there (early in 1976), it’s a beautiful tribute, just right — and I was glad to see so many other things of interest in the Number 8 issue. Friends, At the last meeting of our Conunittee, held on 29th September, it was resolved that a grant of $5OO be made to assist in launching Mana, the new multi-lingual, multi-cultural Auckland newspaper which you are editing. A cheque to this amount is enclosed, from the General Treasurer of the Presbyterian Church. We would be interested to receive a report in due course of how the paper is faring; and we want to encourage you in this constructive contribution to building good race relations in the greater Auckland region.
