First for American Samoa
American Samoans will for the first time be able to vote for their own governor. Previous governors were appointed by the United States Interior Department. ‘Savali’ reports that campaigning for the governor and lieutenant governor has spread to Western Samoa where numerous election posts adorn many shops in Apia. The election is to be held this month. Two candidates, A. P. Lutali and Fofo Sunia are using the campaigning motto of . . . “Deeds, not words . . . O
Galuega, Ae Le NaO Upu."
