MANA LETTERS
Friends. May I extend to your committee my support for the hopes and aspirations of Mana in the future. Rev. D. J. Urquhart Pastor, Anglican Pastorate Parengarenga-Ahipara-Rehia
Friends. Recently, delighting in a rare fine day, my two children — May Ana (6 years) and Tiri (2 years) — plucked some blades of grass and plaited them as a gift for me. It was something personal, special and something un-
iquely me: me as I began, and as I still am. I feel the same about Mana. And feeling this, I want to give something in return. Can 1 — (1) Tell you of Bills introduced into Parliament? (2) Undertake to send copies of a Bill to those of your readers who write to me for copies? (3) Tell you if and when submissions may be made, and to whom? (4) Advise you about Reports and Petitions presented to Parliament? You see, I greatly value that you reach people. I must acknowledge that it is becoming more difficult for Members of Parliament to do this. There are fewer telegrams, phone calls, meetings. For most of our people are needing to expend more of their energies and resources on keeping their families fed, clothed and together. We have all to hold each other’s hands. Your humble servant Whetu Tirikatene-Sullivan MP for Southern Maori
