Endurance of Civilisation
by
Okusitino Mahina
People are led to believe that civilization is classified into two main categories, yet Polynesian civilizations emerged to be another facet in their own right because research has been done and conclusions led to be known that Oceania of Polynesia is one of the four mainstays of modern . day civilization. Acknowledging this aspect of Polynesia classified itself amongst the world at large even more intriguing than Asian civilization in their fight for survival in the future. New Zealand has developed to be the main melting point of all cultures and it will be of the utmost importance for personalities of all civilizations to reflect and establish values in the midst of a multi-cultural society as here in New Zealand. Establishing ones identity in such a society has led to a lot of failures and a complex fibre of problems in every day living. Such failures of society emerged from divided interest in the social being
oa particular ethnic group isolating itself from the, main stream of civilization. Thus the whole population of a country has to merge together in its values then a more hopeful future can be assumed for everlasting peace.
But we will not be able to achieve this very goal until all barriers such as political, socio-economic, ethnic differences, etc are overcome: but philosophers of ancient times induce that righteousness in human behaviour was the answer which has never been practiced because modern living humans disregard this formula. Rejecting an ideal solution such as forecast then, will no doubt deteriorate human values into a valueless commodity. Progress led us to believe that it would mould humans into what they are at present but with modernisation it can drastically change our life but without the readiness of us progress will not be achieved. Then let me say that we should be aware not to let progress in technology affect our values such as positive traditional behaviour, and to prevent this a more vigorous action is needed by humans to survive in this world. Saving one’s civilization from dispersing into nothing of importance, actions of preserving ones human values •top priorities in our every f life, thus our thinking of lay will be the consequences tomorrow.
