July fight for Sekona?

The South Pacific Boxing Association is negotiating for the 1974 Christchurch Commonwealth Games Heavyweight champion, Neville Mead of Britain. He is ranked on both the British and European lists and rated higher in Britain than either Tony Moore or Garfield McEwan.

The president of the S.P.C.A. said, “We are trying to negotiate for Mead to fight Sekona at a reasonable price but the financial structure of the boxing scene at the moment makes it obvious that we cannot afford highly priced boxers from overseas.”

The next fight for Sekona could be the last week of July if negotiations succeed.
