In the case of Webster v M'Larn, reported in our last issue, we have been requested by Mr M'Larn to state that he was not summoned, and that the name should be M'Lean. The case was called out distinctly M'Larn, but we are happy to allow Mr M'Larn the explanation.
A party who had returned hard-up from an unsuccessful visit to the lower diggings, recently tried Moke Creek, and in the course of three weeks succeeded in obtaining sufficient gold to take them-as they say—comfortably to the West Coast and bring them back to Moke Creek again; where it is their intention of returning to, unless better inducements offer on the Canterbury goldfield.
