It is rather amusing to remark the cool way in which the Dunstan people wish to dispose of us all here to suit their own pursposes, and keep that everlasting Molyneux low enough for the miners. Nothing else will please them but darning up the only outlet of Lake Wakatip, and of course, as a trifling little accident connected with the arrangement, putting Queenstown some fathoms under water. To show we are not joking we subjoin the following extract from a letter published in the liuies of the sth inst.At the present time, for a matter of £250, the Molyneux could be lowered exceedingly, viz., by damming the water back at the Falls on the Wakatip Lake.
