We understand that the Government are about to take some steps in reference to the working of the bed of lignite at the Ferry. We hope this wiil be done at once, and care taken that there is a plentiful supply of this, our only fuel, during the ensuing winter, which, if the cold weather we have had lately be any indication, promises to b» a severe one.—Dunstan News.
