TN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the ■*- General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," I, John Nugent Wood, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Wakatip, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a writ bearing date the tenth day of February, 1864, issued under the hand of his Honor John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, an Election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve in the place of William Pinkerton, Esq., who has resigned his seat as a Member of the Provincial Council of Otago, for the said Electoral District; and that the Nomination of Candidates will take place at the Court-house, Creek, Switzer's, on Monday, the 21st day of March, 1864, at the hour of 12 o'clock noon; and that the Poll, if necessary, will be taken on Tuesday, the twentysecond day of March, 1864.
