FOOT RACING AT THE ARROW.

(from our own correspondent.) Friday, 5 p.m. The great feature of to-day has been the foot-races between Collins and Telford, and Collins and Artingstall. There was a large number of spectators, including several from Queenstown, and the betting «vas very lively on the latter event—little interest was excited by the first. The match between Collins and Telford for £lO a-side, 100 yards, came off at 2 o'clock. Betting at start, five to four on Telford. A good start was effected, Telford having slightly the advantage, which he increased throughout, winning by about five yards. Time, ll£ seconds.

The second event, between Collins and Artingstall, for £2OO, came off at 3 o'clock. Artingstall was the favorite in betting, and five to four was freely offered Great excitement was manifested as to the result of this race. There was a splendid start, Collins at once taking the lead, which he kept throughout, distancing his opponent at the close by about three yards, amidst the shouts of his backers, conspicuous among whom were those incorrigible lovers of sport, Messrs. Bracken and Powell, of your township.
