London, September 28. A Committee lias been appointed at the instance of the Prince of Wales to enquire into the question of the sale of colonial wines at the exhibition. Consols have fallen f, and are now guoted at 100}. The market rate of discount lias advanced to 2f per cent. At yesterday and to-day's wool auctions 22,000 bales were offered. The market is weak, and prices have a downward tendency. The cricket match was resumed today at Harrowgate, the attendance being large, and the weather fine. The home team, who yesterday lost fivo wickets for 55 run-;, continued their first innings, but only succeeded in
compiling 130 runs wlien the last wickets fell. The Australians scored 121. In their second innings the home team had lost three wickets for 107 runs at the close of the day s play. The match was drawn. Pap.is, September 29. In addressing a meeting at Toulouse yesterday, M. Freycinet. French Premier, declared that he considered further acquisitions on the part ot 1' ranee were not desired, hut they were determined to retain those which France already possessed, lie expressed a hope that such a solution of the present difficulty with regard to the New Hebrides would be arrived at as would be ia conformity with the dignity of France.
