It is believed that Lord Churchill will take office in the new Ministry as Chancellor of the Exchequer, and will act as leader of the Conservative paity in the House of Commons.
Earl Granville has intimated that the Queensland gunboat G.tyundah will be permitted to fly the white ensign, and that this principle will be extended to other Colonial war vessels according to circumstances.
It is announced that actiye parleying is now proceeding between the English and French Governments for t'lie withdrawal of the latter's troops from New Hebrides.
At a meeting at the Carlton Club the Marquis of Salisbury coufinned the statement already telegraphed that the Marquis of Hartington had promised to support the measures introduced by the Conservatives dealing with the Irish difficulty, and Lord Salisbury expressed a hope that these would result in a lasting settlement of the affairs of Ireland.
A meeting oi the Conservative party has been held, at which it was resolved to proceed immediately with Supply when Parliament resumes, and after that lias been obtained to adjourn until January next.
It is reported that J. A. Stanley, Secretary of State for the Colonies in the last Conservative Administration, will again take that portfolio on the formation of the new Ministry.
