James Ryan—Abandoned water race in a gully situated on the north bank of the Buller river. Granted subject to all existing rights. Lyell Creek Extended Quartz Mining Company—Notice of intention to construct water race in Lyell Creek, nearly one mile above its junetion at Brown's Creek with Lyell Creek. Granted. Ly Puck—Notice of intention to construct water race near the mouth of a creek known as Junker's, on the south side of the Buller river. Granted.

Godfrey Hofer, John Walker, and Hutton—Notice of intention to construct a water race in a creek on Manuka Flat, near the centre of the flat. Granted. Patrick Carroll and Martin Mullans— Tailing site, north bank of Buller river, near Ryan's farm. Granted. Ah Lum and Ah Chung v. Li Song and Lang Wun —Claim for damages for interference with water race at New Creek. This case occupied the Court for a considerable time, and resulted in judgment for plaintiffs. Another case, in which the litigants were reversed went in favour of defendants. Messrs Moynihan and Haselden were retained in both cases, and we believe that an appeal will be lodged on behalf of the defendants in the latter case.
