London, April 20. It has been arranged that the Marquis of Hartington will move for the rejection of the Home Rule scheme when the measure comes up for its second reading. Jesse Collings, late member for Ipswich, has written a letter to the newspapers, in which he condemns the bills introduced by Air Gladstone for the settlement of the Irish difficulty. The trial of Mrs Adelaide Bartlott for poisoning her husband by the administration of chloroform was concluded to-day, when the jury acquitted the prisoner. Her Majesty's Governments has assorted to the proposal put forward by the Khedive, that he should despatch a delegate to Wady Haifa in order to treat with the rebel Arabs for a cessation of hostilities. . Athens, April 20. The troops composing the garrison of this city have been ordered to proceed to the frontier. San Francisco, April 20. The Alameda arrived here from Auckland on the 18th instant. The Mararoa left for New Zealand on the 17th instant at 8 p.m.

Melbournk, April 20. The Tarawera sailed this afternoon for the Bluff. Sydney, April 21. It has been ascertained that the catastrophe at the Lithgow Colliery was not due to an explosion of fire damp, as at first supposed, but to an immense fall in the workings of the pit. The Legislative Assembly will adjourn for the Easter holiday:* from the 22nd to 28th April.
