Hack Race. 1 mile. 10 sovs. Playboy 1 Yatterina 2 Burgundy 3 Autumn Handicap. Marquis (Quiun) 1 Cardigan (Allen) 2 Sir William (Hungerford) 3 Rosina also rau. Marquis led from the start and won easily by three lengths. Dividend, £1 15s. Trotting Handicap. 3 miles. 10 sovs. Newnnu's Peter (scratch) ... ... ... 1 Dick's Bess (scratch) ... ... 2 Cochrane's Wack (75 y.irds)... ... ... 3 Two others started. Won by two lengths. Dividend, i-2 7s. Boatman's Handicap. miles. 20sovs. Duchess of Albany, Bst 71b 1 Playboy, 7st 41b ... 2
Cardigan also ran, but fell soon after the start, the-jockey, narrowly escaping severe injury. The race proved a gilt to the Duchess. Some excitement was caused during the race through the totalisator proprietor attempting to ring on some tickets on the Duchess of Albany while the race was being run. The ticket holders refused to take the dividend declared, and the affair will be decided by the stewards tonignt. ' •
