Wallace Ross and Plaisted, oars-oien, intend next August to go through Niagara whirlpool in a boat. They bel'eve Webb was drowned through an accident, and that the boat they have contracted for will convey them safely through. Mr Sprecldes, of the Oceanic Company, has been instiacted by the company to have built an iron steamer for the Australian trade, of 4000 tons gross register, and engine power to give a speed equal to that of the Alameda and Maiposa. The new steamship is to be named the Sonoma.
