London, January 25. The representatives of the European Powers have issued a collective note to Greece, stating that if she is obdurate and persists in her demands, a combined fleet will be immediately despatched to Greek waters.
M. Delamis, Greek Premier, refuses to yield, and the Greek fleet sailed at daybreak to-day under sealed orders. Sofia, January 25. M. Itsanoff, Bulgarian Minister for Foreign Affairs, has left for Constantinople, in order to negotiate for the union of Bulgaria and Roumelia. It is announced that Prince Alexander has received a letter from the Czar of Russia, in reference to the difficulty in the Balkan States. The comnmuieation is 6tated to be couched in courteous terms.
London, January 26. In the House of Commons yesterday Lord Salisbury announced that the Government intended forthwith to introduce proposals for the settlement of the Irish difficulty. In the House of Commons an amendment to the Address-in-Reply was moved by Mr J. W. Barclay, member for Forfarshire, to the effect that it was desirable to legislate for an improvement in former's tenancy. The amendment was rejected by a majority of 28, Mr Parnell and followers supporting the amendment. Replying to a question, Mr B. Bourke. Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs! stated that at the instance of Greai Britain the Powers had notified to Greed that an attack by her navy on the Turkish
fleet would not be allowed. Mr Bourke added that up to the pre3eut time no answer had been received to the communication in question. In the House of Commons to-day, Mr Black gave ectice that on Thursday next he would ask the house to grant precedence to a Government Bill haying for its object the suppression of the Irish National League and the prevention of terrorism now prevalent in Ireland. He announced that the Land Purchase Bill would speedily follow. Mr Gladstone, replying to an appeal made to him by M. Denmarch (principal municipal officer at Athens), deprecates resistance on the part of Greece to the will of the Powers. Berlin, January 26. In consequence of the unsettled state of affairs in Greece, a German ironclad has been ordered to proceed to Piraens.
