The yacht Sunbeam, with Gladstone on board, reached Bergen, Norway, on Aug. 18. The late Premier was greatly benefited by the trip. He made a pedestrian excursion from Fied Feiord to Varingford, 18 miles, without being fatigued. He returned to England on fchn 27th. H.j was courteously received everywhere by tin Ixorwegians.
The Prince of Wales left London fo; Norway in the Royal yacht on Aug. 20. Several thousands of unemployed working men assembled at Hackney on the 27th, and adopted a resolution demanding Government to assist them to emigrate.

The Earl of Doon mad* an offer of ten p«r cent, reduction in the rents of bis Limerick tenants. It was accepted.
After a stormy meeting, a riot occurred at Londonderry on August 20. Forty soldiers beat a crowd of civilians, whereupon the latter turned upon the soldiers and a picket guard had to be called out. The guard were obliged to carry fixed bayonets for self defence. Order was with difficulty restored.
The Nationalists of Cork and Waterfor I assembled at Knockamore on August 25, and interred a document representing crime as one result of Lord Carnarvon's, peaceful progress through Ireland.
