London, February 14. In consequence of the recent dynamite outrage stringent rules have been adopted for the admission of the public to the Houses of Parliament. February 16. The offer of further assistance made by the Canadian Government for the repression of the Soudan rebellion has been accepted by the Imperial Government. The Home authorities, fearing a rising, have decided not to reduce the strength of the garrisons at present stationed in Ireland. February 19. The Queensland Government have offered to send volunteers to join the Australian Brigade which is being forwarded to the Soudan. It is considered that their offer is certain to be accepted. February 21. Since the fall of Khartoum and the news of Gordon's death, public indignation against the Gladstone Ministry has been freely expressed. February 22. Sir Gerald Graham and staff of Grenadier Guards embarked to-day for Soudan.
Cairo, February 17. Intelligence has been received that the British troops on Saturday last abandoned Grebat, on the Nile, above Metemneh, a*d- retired to Abuklea, to the northward. The movement was without molesttlion from the enemy.
It is possible the troops will further fall back on Gakdul, where more water is obtainable.
It is reported that the Mahdi with fifty thousand followers lias left Khartoum and is marching on Metemneh.
Febristry 19. News is te hand that Major-General Sir Herbert Stewart died on Monday last, at Gakdul, from injuries received at the battle near Metemneh on the 19th nit. Sydniy, February '29.
The patriot]e fund is daily increasing and the arrangements for the despatch of the troops are progressing favorably. The day of embarkation will be observed as a public holiday, and will be attended with considerable eclat.
Sir Henry Parkes and others strongly deprecate the despatch of the New South Wales contingent te Soudan.
February 21. At a meeting last ni»ht in connection with the patriotic fund the principal speakers were Sir James Martin, Chief Justice, Hon. Edmund Barton, Speaker of the Asiemblv and Sir Patrick Jennings. Resolutions were passed confirming the objects of the meeting.
The toUl amount subscribed amounts to over .515.000. Preparations for the despatch of the troops are ntarly complete.
February 25. The Patriotic Fund now amounts to jk;o,oo;). Beach is a strong favourite for the Mulling match to take place next Saturday (to-day) with Clifford for i-iiOO a-side and the Championship of the werld. Melbourne, February 25.
Power, the bushrAujer, has been released from after serving a sentence of fifteen year*. He is now sixtylive years old.
