SUMNER SEND-OFF AND RECEPTION COMMITTEE.

The Sumner Send-off and Reception .Com- . mitteo met on Friday evening when Mr A. C Wilson, in the absence of the Mayor, prs* sided over a good tttondance. * The chairman, in reviewing the send-oH accorded to Sergeant C »•**»■. congratumt, * ed the committee upon the saoccss of the > function, and heartily thanked the members for their co-operation in the matter. A discussion took-place as to the relationship of tho committee to tho Permanent War Fund Committee, and it was pointed out that tho present committee was formed at the leqaestpf the older body for the pur- S pose of attending to the farewellmg of departing soldiers. * , I ~ It was deoided that >fie secretary should I write to the secretary of the Permanent. Tha resolution to aller tho name of the society to " The S<md-off and Reception Committee was carried unanimously, and members pledged themselves to see that suitable galaerings were held for the purpose.
