WOMEN'S GENERAL COMMITTEE. The next meeting of the Women's General Committee will be held at tho central depot at. 11 a.m. on Wednesday. BROMLEY. , * A concert' was held in the Bromley School on Saturday night in aid of the Lady Liverpool Fund. There was a good attendance, and a very enjoyable. pi-ogTamme was prsentea bv the"" Barnstormers.'' During the interval ilra Holland, Mayoress of Christchiirch, gave an address on tho work of the fund: At the conclusion, on behalf of the coutmiltce, Mr Poole auctioued two cakes, one presented by Mrs Irvine, and tho other by Mrs Moore, and succeeded in securing £7 7s tor them. Teinpieion Bros, purchased Mrs Mcoro's cake, and Mr Simouds purchased Mis Irvine's cake. Both were then handed over to the Mayoress for the fund. The secretary (Mrs Christian) proposed a hearty vote 0i thanks to the " Barnstormers " for their ftscellent programme, to Mrs Holland for her address, to Mr Chambers for conveying the performers, and to all who had worked so well. The motion was carried by acclamation.

FENDALTON. A concert in aid of tho Fondalton Red Cross Branch was held in St Barnabas Sunday schoolroom on evening. Au excellent programme was submitted. The second part consisted of a faroe, which was very brightly acted by four members of tho concert party. Tho wet evening rather militated against tho attendance, or probably the amount realised (£7 8s) would have been much larger.

BELFAST. For the month of September the ladies of the Belfast Rod Cross branch undertook to make fifty dressing gowns. Some doubt was expreasied as to whether the branch was strong enough to accomplish its *elf-*llotted task, but it proved its efficiency by cornp'eting the work and returning it to the depot within three weeks. In addition to this the following firticks were made during the month:—l3 undervests, 5 pair underpants, 3 suits pyjamas, 3 bed jackets, 1 doctor's coat, 5 binders, 13 dusters, 1 pillow cases, 4 tea towels, 27 tray cloths. 3 face cloths, 24 pairs

socks, 3<S swabs, 753 roller bandages, 2 bundles old linen. Tho Belfast branch, by special effort, has also contributed to the "Our Day" Fund the sum of £52. LITTLE RIVER. 'Red Cross work in the Little River branch is steadily progressing. The committee wishes to aeltnowledgo with thanks the gift of a bandage machine from M.rs C'otterill, lately a visitor' to the branch, also a. new branch stamp from Mrs Wynn-Wißiams, and monthly cash donations front Mesdarucs Newton and Whatman.

On Thursday, October 5, the.ro will bo a general meetini and exhiblicm of Red Cross work done dnrinir the month, and MrflPlill, from tho Christcliurch central depot, will address the gathering.
