EARNING TO MARINERS.
Captain J. A. H. Maveiel, Superintendent of Mercantile Marine, Lyttelton. lias received the following message from the Secretary of Marine:— ‘•lnform masters of-vessels bound fer Auckland that the fog signal at Cuvier Island has been danurg’ed by an explosion, and cannot be used until repairs have been effected. The panes of the lighthouse have also been shattered, aud the efficiency of' the light may be impaired. Repairs will be'effected as soon as possible.”
