Australian a ni N.Z. Cabl. Aawclation. . COPENHAGEN, September 27. Athens advices state that 100 Greek officers, who endeavoured to join the revolutionaries, were imprisoned with bard labour. . There are serious revolts at Larissa, and the movement is growing.
il. ARMY AND NAVY. > BATTLESHIP JOINS ALLIED SQUADRON. (Received September 28, 5.6 p.m.) LONDON, September 27. The “Daily Chronicle” correspondent at Athena says that the Greek battleship Hydra, accompanied by a destroyer, left the Greek fleet -at Salamis and anchored amidst the Allied squadron. The Hydra is commanded by Captain Vransanos, who rendered distinguished services in the Balkan war. One hundred and forty-six army officers have. issued a proclamation summoning their comrades to join tho national movement. , . (The Hydra is a small battleship, built in 1889 and reconstructed in 1900. Her displacement is 4808 tons.)

The Athena correspondent of the *< Daily Mail ” says that the battleship Psar* (of the same class as the Hydra) has also joined the Allies and it is feared that the whole fleet will follow. v
• VENEZELOS IN CRETE.

ATHENS, September 27. The Allies ordered the population to evacuate Fiorina. Venezelos was ac*,Crded an ovation at Suda. He ox-; plained his ’intentions in a speech and appealed to the King to place himself at the head of the national movement against Greece’s traditional enemies. YENEZELIST PROPOSALS. ATHENS, September 27. “ Patris ” states that M. Venezelos had not intended interfering immediately with the status quo in Athens. The object of the movement was purely national, with .the formation of an army for the purpose of defending Macedonia with the Allies.
