A thirty-page Gazette containing th« honours granted includes Sergeant Claude Charles Castleton, of an Australian machine-gun company, who received the Victoria Cross. During an attack on the enemy trenches the in-

Sergeant Dastleton went out twice in face of intense fire and brought a wounded man £ on his back. Ho was bringing in * third when he was himself hit m tho back and killed instantly. Ho set a splendid example by his courage and ielf-sacrifice. .
