KAIAPOI CLUB. , Tli3 annual meeting of the Kaiapoi Tenaii ; Club was held last night, tlie president, M? W. Reeves! presiding over an "atknidanoo of about twenty. \ Tho report stated that the season had been very successful. Association. The balance-sheet showed' a credit balance of £l2 10s lOd, with assets amount; ing to .£l6 Us id. and no liabilities:, The ret port and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers were elected as follow: —Patron, Hon D. Buddo, M.P.; president, Mirs Alfred Pearoe; vice-presidents. MeFdaraeS' J. W. Barnard and L. B, Evans, Dr Pinfold and Messrs T. Douds, A. G. Ashby, L. B. Evans and B. A. M'Kebwn; captain, Mr A. ESmither; vice-captain. Miss K. "Wells; committee, Misses P. Barnard, A. Moore, I. Richards. H. Pearcc and Messrs A. F.Rollinson, T. Ashlev, W. Reeves and L. Parn-. ham; honorary secretary, Mr R. S. Wright; honorary treasurer, Miss M. M'Gregor;'del©sato to Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, Sir W. Reaves; delegates to Park Committee, Messrs A. R. Smither and R. F. Wright, honorary auditor, Mr J. L. Conlan., ' Private Stewart TurnbulJ, serving with th» forces, was elected a life member. Eleven new .member* were elected. -. The opening of the season was fixed K* Saturday,'October 21, and it was "solved that it should be a gift day for the solVotes of thanks, were passed to Mrs A. Bennett,, who' retired from the position ot secretary owing to her departure from th* district, to tne ladies for afternoon tea, and to tho retiring officers.
