ADDINGTON BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.
Tho monthly meeting of the Addington Burgesses' Association was held on Thursday evening in Dickens Street Hall. Mr H. L. Jackson presided over a very large attend ance. Tho president reported on dologates' visit to Spreydon, and*the mooting decided to confirm tho action of delegates in supporting tho resolutions brought forward st that meeting. Tho dust nuisance was fully discussed, and it was decided to wri.o to tho City Council and ask for more watering of streets than is a.t present given: Soventeen new members were elected. Mr A. Johnston was elected a life member of the association. Tho mou.hly euchre party and social was held on Tuesday night in Dickena Street Hall in aid of tho Red Cross Funds. The hall was crowded. Tho winners wore as follow: Ladieß' section—Miss E. Bull 1, Mis Bridges 2, booby prize Mrs G. Woods; men's section —Mr P. Jackson 1, Mr R Fox 2. booby prise Mr R. Hill. Since May, 1916, tho Burgesses' Association has handed over to the Red Cross the sum of £57 16s 7d.
