An communique snys:—The enemy south-west of Lake Narotch launched a gas attack for two hours. Subsequent attacks in dense columns were repelled. The communique makes no mention of the Hn!iea fighting, but unofficial reports state that the battle continues with extreme violence. General Tcherbatchoff's troops, fortifying tho captured German positions, were exposed to incessant counter-attacks for fortyeiglit hours, but the only result was that the Russians captured three more of the enemy lines.
