VEGETABLES AND FRUIT. Vegetables have boen in better supply this week, and prices aro a little easier at auction. Fruit continues unequal to tha demand, and prices for imported lines rulo high. A shipment of Valencias from San Francisco sold at up to *Ms a case. The first ktimeras from Auckland this year were oagerly-snapped up. The usual Sydney shipment of pines, passions and mandarins is oxpectcd next week, and also a small consignment of Auckland lemons and kumeras. Melbourne lemons, apples and onions reached

POULTRY. Tho poultry market is, cyen more notable for high prices this weeE? The shortage continues. Some idea of it may he gained from tho fact that a line of thirty White Leghorns, offered for table purposes, made 6s 'id per pair. Chickens have sold at auction during tho week at 7b Cd to 10a 7d, hens os €d to 8s 2d, pullets 8s to 12s Gd. ducks (scarce) 7s 6d to 10s (3d, gobblers 26a to 435, turkey hens lis to 16a, all at per pair; and hens and broods of chicks from 6a to 14s. EGGS. Eggs are coming in frooly, and find ready sale at tho fixed rate of Is Id a dozen for fust grade (2oz and over), and 19 for second grade. PIGS. Store pigs continue in short supply. Tiny weancrs at the citv yards to-day made up to IBs to £1 9s Cd. small stores of good duality to £1 9s 6d and lough, stores £1 2s fid to £1 7s 6d, RANGIORA HORSE FAIR. At- Tettcrfa'.l's Baeaar, Rangiora, yesterday, twenty-nine good draught horses were offered at tho monthly fair, and sixteen changed hands at satisfactory prices. There was o. strong demand for farm horses of a useful stamp. Sales were made as follow:—Three-year-old gelding at £2O; four-year-old mare and gelding at £2O and £23; four-year reldings at £23 and £33 10s; six and seven-year-old, £3O; eight-vear-o'd mares and geldings, £lO ss, £22 os and £29; aged horses, £l7 to {£>. ______
