GRAIN AND PRODUCE. The grain market continues firm. "Wheat ■ is still corning forward in small nnd xnedium.«ized parcels, and 'buyers are-ready to take it at the. rates current for .two weeks past. The principal businocs is in Tuscan, .which is worth up to i 3 8d a bushel on trucks at country stations. _ • Oats and chaff are nominally quoted. Very little business is beirg done locally. Thcro is rather better inquiry for potatoes, • but on a basis which precludes any better 1 prices to farmers than £8 10a at bandy country stations, and only £6 6s. at distant stations. Auckland advices are to the effect that Australian tubers are landing in satisfactory t condition, and thet' a iairly heavy skijpmeak

is due ex Paloonw at the end of the month. Snowflakes are quoted at £5 'ss f. 0.0., Melbourne. Daily produce is unchanged.
