SAVINGS BANK FIGURES.
DEPOSITS AND WITHDRAWALS. [Per Press Association-.] WELLINGTON, September 22. Post Office Savings Dank deposits in July totalled £1,392,198, exceeding withdrawals by £372,759. In August tho deposits wore £1,363.908, and withdrawals £1.6(58,011, withdrawals thus exceeding deposits by £314,103. For the first seven days of September withdrawals exceeded deposits by £•214.852. These heavy withdrawals, it is pointed out. wero made during the period that the War Loan was open for subscription, and in view of the fact that approximately ten millions sterling woro raised in tho Dominion it is ■considered'-remarkable-that the Savings Bank finances were so slightly disturbed.
