A United Press Berlin correspondent states that a storm for tho resumption of unrestricted submarining is expected to break when , the Reichstag reassembles on September 28. It is believed that I>r von Betlmiann-Hollweg, with FieldMarshal > von Hindenburg’s support', will be victorious for a continuation of the present policy. An important meeting of Socialist members of the Reichstag will be held to-day to determine the course of action. * ‘Members aro being urged to forget their differences in united- solid support of Dr von Bethmann-Hclhveg in' view of the coming crisis.

that many Chemnitz workmen had been killed at tho Somme. Tho hussars and infantry charged the rioters, and there ha.; been continuous street fighting. Forty persons were killed, while three hundved have been arrested, v Five hussars were killed and fourice n injured.'

The Colonial Minister, in a statement on the post-war policy, said that Germany'not only wanted a fleet but a colonial empire, and thus would be independent of foreigners for raw materials.
