COMMITTED FOR TRIAL

[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 21. John Drown, caretaker of a garage in the city, was charged in the Police Court to-day with attempting to murder a returned soldier named Francis Kelly, on September 8. The case arose as the result of a shooting affray in the garage, in which, Kelly- was wounded. Kelly and his companion on the night in question gave evidence for the prosecution. Accused pleaded t. not guilty, and was committed for trial. Bail was allowed.
