There are about 170 passengers in tho third class. SHIPPING' NOTES. Owing to her undertaking a trip from Wellington to Nydio Bay, the Wootton wiil not arrive back in Lyttelton until Saturday morning She will return to Wellington on Saturday night. Mr G. Godfrey, late second officer of the Katoa, will join the Kamo. Mr W. C. F. Richardson, late of the Stormbird, has joined the Putiki as chief engineer, relieving Mr W. Graham. With a full cargo of timber the Opouri arrived from Greymouth yesterday. She will return to the West Coast port to-day, taking general cargo. The Japanese steamer Akito Marit, which is Cue at Wellington on Friday from Japan, tm Sydney, will discharge the wliolo of her freight at the northern port. Her cargo consists of 1033 tons for Wellington, SGO for Auckland, 378 for Lyttelton, 304 for Dunedin, and small quantities for other ports. It is understood that the schooner Morning Light, whioh was sold some time ago for work at Wanganui, is to have engines fitted in her. The vessel is at present lying alongside the lower breastwork. The Union Company’s collier Wanaka, which is at present discharging coal at Wellington, is in command of Captain J Flynn, who has associated with him the following officers:—Chief. Mr F.
