ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
■ «. A CHILD’S DEATH. DUE TO MARASMUS. An inquest was held at the City Morgue yesterday, before Mr H. \\ . Bishop, S.M., touching tho death of the remain ctnlff ol Mrs J. M’Nichol, of Augug Street, Sydenham, which expired in its mother’s arms on Bealey Avenue yesterday. James M’Nichol, father, said that tho child was born in January . last, and had been sickly from birth. It was sent to the Hospital when a fortnight old, and was discharged in September. Grace M’Nichol, wife of the previous witness, said her child Avas born on January 12, 1916. It was very delicate and never seemed to thrive. It was seA'en months in the Hospital. On tho previous day, near the corner of Manchester Street and Bealey Avenue the child seemed to go off and died in her arms. It had been sent to the Hospital for marasmus.
Tlie Coroner returned a verdict that 'loath •■ ‘u- to marasmus.
