In the New Zealand Expeditionary Vorce Orders, issued by Sir A. J. Godley on July 17, it is announced that no so-dier of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces who has had a limb amputated will be evacuated to New Zealand until he has been supplied with an artificial limb, and is himself satis, ted that s'uch limb is properly fitted and lie is able to use it. He will alsd oh measured for a duplicate limb and supplied with this, if possible, before leaving England. If the duplicate limb is not ready for issue before he leaves it will be forwarded by the DeputyDirector of Medical Services to New Zealand by the earliest opportunity. The Deputy-Director of Medical Services in each case will be responsible for the pattern of artificial limbs supolied. Soldiers of the New > Zealand Expeditionary Force who have lost an eye will, before being evacuated to New Zealand, be supplied with two artificial eyes for each eye lost. The Deputy-Director of Medioal Services will make the necessary arrangements for the fitting and supply. A nominal . roll will ho recorded monthly, contain- i ! ing the names of all men supplied with i artificial limbs and eyes. <
