FIERCE ARTILLERY DUEL.
GERMAN ATTEMPTS TO ADVANCE FAIL. THE RETREATING AUSTRIAN'S. (Received January 5, 12.15 a.m.) PETROGRAD, January 4. An official report states: — There is a fierce artillery duel along the whole of the Vistula front. The enemy's attempt to advance at some points on tho Bzura failed. Several hundred Germans were outflanked and annihilated at Koslowsiskupi, and tho Bzura. After an all night fight northoast of the RjMva, wo occupied' trenches that had been captured by tho enemy. The Aust.ria.ns retreating by the Uzok Pass region are abandoning much material.
