RESCUE WORK IN STORM.

PINNACE PICKED UP BY TRAWLER. (Received January ■'], 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 2. The trawler Providence picked tip the Formidablo's pinnace with sixty-eight men and two officers aboard and landed them at Brixham. Tho pinnace was leaking and nearly full of water. Many of them were in night attire and other's wero wrapped in blankets. Several other fishing boats wero in the vicinity. The Providence was running for shelter at tho height of tho gale with mountainous seas when she sighted the pinnace. Tho crew of four did heroic work taking oft' the survivors.
