A double tragedy occurred at Toolera. Miss Wynne, seventeen years of age. was shot by an Italian camping near the girl's home. Two sisters were standing outside tho house when tho Italian approached, seized a gun and 'pointed it at the younger sister, who fled, and escaped unhurt. The man then turned the gun on the elder girl, blew off the top of her head, and then committed 1 suicide. THE RICHMOND MURDER. MELBOURNE, January 3. Georgo Roy, n labourer, identified the body of the woman known as Lucy Gorman, who was found murdered in a housa in Richmond. Her correct name was Lucy Carlson. She had lived apart from her husband for fourteen years, during which time ebe lived with Roy until a fortnight ago, when deceased left with another man in * taxi.
