CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the ChrKjV church Golf Club was held la the ChamheJ of Commerce on Saturday night, the president, Mr A. E. G. Rhodes, in the chair. The report stated that the membership of tho Club was 299. There had been, more summer play during the past season than in previous years and the greens, with few exceptions, were in excellent condition.- Mr W. lies had been- appointed professional to 'the Club early in the year and had given genoral satisfaction, having proved to be a good player and a good coach. The finan-j ciai statement showed an expenditure for I tho year of £I3S3 6s 7d. _ Of this amount I £451 18s 4d had been paid in lieu of rent and £6BO 18s 3d 1 for the upkeep of the links. ; The receipts for the year amounted to £126-2 11s 6d, of which. £7S3 12s 6d was for subscriptions and locker fees. The chairman moved ' the /adoption of the report and balance-sheet. Mr G. E. Rhodes seconded the motion which was carried. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, His Excellency Lord Liverpool; president, His Honor Mr Justice Dennistou; vice-presidents. Messrs J. Montgomery, C. K. Sams and !B. B. Wood; captain-, Mr H. H. Lougbnan; secretarv, Mar L. Y. Comerford; committee, Messrs M. H. Godbv, W. Harman, C. H. Hewlett-, H. H. Knight, J. D. Million and S. K. Sleigh. Mr B. H. Burns was elected a life member of- the Club. Mr Sleigh suggested that the Club should try wid attract more members and he' moved that it should be a recommendation • to tho incoming ocpimittw* to consider the! question of an official opening of the sea- j son and the laying down of a couple of tennis courts oa the Club’s grounds The was lost by 16 votes to 15. Tns medals won in the dub competitions during the year were presented to the win* nera by the chairman. , A of thanks was passed to Mr T. D. Condell, the retiring secretary, for his services to the Club.
