The deported men declare that it is their intention to return in defiance of the Bill. It is rumoured that the deported men have entered an appeal with the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. PUBLIC SAFETY. BILL IN THE ASSEMBLY. CAPE TOWN, February 26. A Bill providing for the maintenance of public safety in times of actual or apprehended danger has been read a first time in the Assembly. A BANQUET. “ PRIVATE AND WITHOUT INCIDENT.” LONDON, February 26. A hundred of the most prominent of Ihe Labourites banqueted the deported men in the stranger’s dining-rooms in the House of Commons. The banquet was private and without incident. DIVIDED VIEWS. (Received February 27, 12.10 a.m.) LONDON, February 27. Mr Bain and some other of the deported men favour immediately booking their passages to South Africa. Mr Poutsma and three others desire to wait, hoping that when the position is quieter the Union Government will bo less .'insistent on their exclusion. s
