METHODIST CHURCH.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. [Per Press Association.! DUNEDIN, February 27. The Methodist Conference resumed this morning. Several notices of motion were tabled, and a large amount of correspondence - was received, including communications from Lord Liverpool and Bishop Nevill, and also from the Methodist Conferences of Great Britain and Australia. The customary committees of details were set up, and special committees to consider home missions, the supernumerary fund, and the revision of the book of laws.
The following laymen were appointed from their respective districts to act with an equal number of ministers on the Stationing Committee:—Auckland, Messrs T. Hodgson and J, Veale; South Auckland, Mr G. Densem; Taranaki and Wanganui, Messrs S. Bennett and T. P. Hughson; Hawke’s Bay and Manawatu. Messrs W. G. Pearce and R. Fennell; Wellington, Messrs H. T. H. Grave, F. Penn and the Hon C. M. Luke; Nelson, Messrs W. D. Pike and E. H. Penney; North Canterbury, Messrs W. Dobbs and Blackwell; South Canterbury,* Messrs W. T. Irwin and H. Grayburn; Otago, Messrs W. King and E. Rosevear: Southland, Messrs J. Wesney and A. S. Froggatt. All the standing committees _ met during the afternoon. The Stationing Committee will not meet until the committees on circuits and homo missions havo reported their findings on circuit adjustments and ministerial staffing.
