AUCKLAND EXHIBITION.
THE STALL-HOLDERS’ ULTIMATUM. [Per Precs Association.) AUCKLAND, February 27. A largely attended meeting of Ex-. ; hibition stall-holders was hold in the concert hall at the Exhibition ground this morning. It was decided to put an ultimatum to the Commissioners concerning the period for which tho Exhibition should be extended and also in regard to tho amount which tho Commissioners should be paid out of the cash takings. Stall-holders spoke strongly in favour of closing down on Saturday week unless the Commissioners would give an undertaking to remain open over Easter. Ultimately resolutions were carried almost unanimouslv that a committee should wait on the president of the Exhibition with a request that the Exhibition should remain open until the Saturday after Easter and. with ail offer in that event to pay ten per cent of their takings based on tlio February average. The chairman: Supposing the Commissioners won’t agree? A stall-holder: Then let us, as a body, close up. (Hear, hear.)
