PICNICS.
ISLINGTON FREEZING WORKS
Tho employees of tho Islington Freezing Works held their annua] picnic at Pearson’s Park, Oxford, on Saturday. There was a record gathering of about COO people, who travelled by a special train. Tho weather was fine and a vory enjoyable timo was spent. Under tho guidance of a strong committee, with Mr It. ’Motion as president and Mr W. Martin as .secretary, many amusements, including a lengthy programme of sports, were carried out. Tho results of the sports were as follows: Youihs’ Hacc —J. Bent 1, J. M'Clusky 2, D. Lennox 3.

Tug-of-war—Casing Department. One Mile Bicycle—J, Moffat 1, J. M’Teigue 2, A. M’Tavish 3. Two Mile Bicycle Handicap—J. Moffat 1, J, M’Tcigue 2, A. M’Tavish 3, Tho baby show was won by Mrs Monk’o child, with Mrs Watson’s child, second and Mrs Bench’s child third.
