NATIONAL INSURANCE ACT. By Telegraph— Press Association — Copyright, LONDON, February 26. The llouso of Commons by 283 to 199 rejected a motion for an impartial committee to inquire into the working of the Insurance Act. Mr Lloyd George declared that if a voluntary system were adopted millions would drop out. Discussing the possible insolvency of the fund, he said : “If societies are slack they must suffer. I never guaranteed benefits where societies maladministered. The societies now are getting a grip on the machinery. The doctors, originally sulky, now are helping to check malingering.”
