Wilford, made an. unusual ' spoon, was divorced last year and,had agreed to pay 15s per week towards , the maintenance of two children. Mr • Dunn, who appeared for the first wife, ' said he had agreed to pay. £1 per week.' Mr Wilford replied that it afterwards bad been varied ■ to 15s per week, owing to the inability, of his -• jcUefit to pay the s amount. .He now .proposed to visit' England, and Mr Dunn had ; ;threatehed him,'with .provceedings if he,attempted to leave;the dominion.* His client thought' the only way was to take out a summons ; againot himself that he should enter into "some kind of' security in order I that the machinery of the Court should jiot be-set in motion. to prevent his ', cleaving, v Mr Riddell, S.M., ordered that £IOO - be deposited iwith the> : clerk of the Court or thatapplicant find & bond in the sum of £IOO or two sureties of £SO each.
Mr Dunn then applied for a variation of the maintenance order of 15s per week to £l, as originally granted. After hearing the evidence of the first wife, who stated she had divorced her husband, Mr Riddell stated that owing to "the unsatisfactory nature of the evidence there was not sufficient to warrant the Court in ' making, any .Variation of'the order. ll
