The British Empire Steam Navigation Company, an offshoot of the Empire Transport Company, has been formed and has acquired ten steamers now being built by Irvines, of Hartlepool. A share capital of £250,000 has been subscribed and £250,000 in 5$ per cent debentures at 97 is being offered.
