o THE EXISTING ANOMALIES
TO BE DISCUSSED BY FARMERS. "The v anomaliss that are stated, to exist in regard to freights between New Zealand coastal ports and between New Zealand and Australia, were, discussed at yesterday's meeting of the Farmers' Union. The chairman, Mr C. H. Ensor, stated that-the matter would come up for further consideration at tho next meeting of the Union. He read out the current freight rates, which were as follows: — ■'"■'-•.« Wheat.—Lyttelton to Wellington, 10s 6d ner ten; southern ports to Auckland, 10s per ten; Sydney to Auckland, lis per ton. Flour;—Lytteltcn to Wellington, 8s 6d; southern oorts to Auckland, 10s; Sydney.to Auckland, J3.s 3d. Oats.— Lyttelton to Wellington, 13s; southern ports to Auckland, 13s Od; Sydney to Auckland, 13s 9d. Chaff.—Lyttelton to Wellington, 21s; southern ports to Auckland, 23s 6d; Svdneyto Auckland, 24s 9d. Pollard'.—Lyttelton to Wellington, 12s; southern ports to Auckland, 13s; Svdnev to Auckland, 16s 3d. 'Bran.—Lyttelton to Wellington, 13s; southern worts to Auckland, 14s; Sydney to Auckland. 16s 3d. Hay Straw—Lyttelton to Wellington, 23s 6d; southern ports to Auckland, 265; Svdnev to Auckland, 2Vs 6d.
