LONDON, February 23
Vessels paying river dues at London during the past nine months had a tonnage of 23,600,000, an increase over the 1912 total of 2,000,000 tons. The tonnage of the vessels using tho docks was 14,000,000, an increase of 1,000,000. INVITED TCrVISIT NEW ZEALAND. LONDON, February 24.
At a club luncheon the Hon T. Mackenzie invited Sir R. Munro-Ferguson, the new Governor-General of the Commonwealth, to visit New Zealand. The latter laughihgly asked Captain Collins, the Commonwealth representative whether he could do so. POSTPONED.
Th© War Office has postponed the new Territorial competitions at Bisley until 1915. ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL;
The Dean of St Paul’s is appealing for £70,000 to strengthen the superstructure. It is believed that many thousand Britons in the Dominions to whom the cathedral is hallowed, will be ready to respond.
