DARGAVILLE, Februaiy 24 v George John Burbury, a recent nrs rival from the Homeland, was arrested at Aratapu yesterday, for Ithd theft, of a gold watch and tiro chains, the value d £ls 15s, ; from the Central, Hotel, and also a pormanteau belonging.to anjtlier boarder. ' ' , :
The chains were sold with the ports nantcau to different people. . Tb# watch was hidden under the railway ine at Kaihau. ; After the theft he walked thirty nilca over the gumfields to Aratapu, here. he. was arrested.. Mast of the property was recovered.
