DEFENCE FORCES.
NOTES ON OPERATIONS. Arrangements are being made for an important parade of the senior cadets of the Boys’ High School, West Christchurch District High School, and Christ’s College. The parade, probably will be held next week, but no date lias been definitely fixed. During last week, about sixty per cent of tlie men attended the “ night and morning ” camp of the Ist Canterbury Regiment. Tho musketry courso for the year was completed by about one-third of the members. The other members will be able to complete the course in two half-day parades. It is felt that, the experiment of holding the camp was so successful that it will be held again next year.. Members of the Ist Mounted Rifles (Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry) who did not attend the voluntary squadron camps in October now are attending weekly parades throughout the district. Captain C. H. Finnis, officer in charge of area group No 9, will spend about a week at the rifle meeting at Trentham.
